How to Remove In-Player Captions

Some videos may appear with subtitles in the player automatically. This may be troublesome because Avid Language Learning might also show the same subtitles below the video.
To remove the in-player subtitles, unlock the video using the Actions dropdown.
Click the CC button in the video player to turn the subtitles off.
You can now lock the player again and the subtitles should be turned off.
Caveat: if you have an extension that blocks cookies this might not work as expected. We recommend to keep the player unlocked, so that you decision to have the subtitles off is maintained.
This works best using Chrome. Safari and lesser-known browsers may work differently.
